Karen “Denise” Ison, 65, of Lebanon Junction, passed away March 18, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a retired of employee of Publisher’s Printing with over 29 years of service. She was a member of the Basilica of Saint Joseph Proto-Cathedral, Bardstown. Denise loved gardening, hunting, and UK basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Patrick and Betty Jane Clark; along with her siblings, Dwayne and Denean Clark. She is survived by her loving husband, Rusty Ison; 2 sons, Mike (Kara) and Chris (Amanda) Thurman; 2 step-daughters, Tami Edmonds (Derek) and Shanna Ison; 3 sisters, Debbie Smith (Mark), Donna Boone (Pat), and Rhonda Blandford (Todd); along with 6 grandchildren, Destany Thurman (Jordan), Nya Thurman, Marianna Ayala, Austin Skaggs, Kalvin Weakley, and Myles Weakley. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kosair Charities.
